Grace, 14 lessons with Evan Excellent tutorĮvan has been tutoring my son with ISEE tests. I highly recommend the more focused and skilled private tutoring offered by Evan. My son simultaneously had taken a 2-month HSPT prep course at a local high school, and said that course was basically useless due to (1) the size of the class, and (2) wasted time on sections that he already knew/scored well. Evan worked with my son over the course of a few months on those sections and overall test taking strategies, and my son final scores for all sections were all in mid-90's to 99 percentile range, with a final Composite score of 99/Standard Score of 718. However, his Reading/Language Use sections were in the mid-80's range. In prior practice tests, my son already scored in the 98-99 range for Math and Quantitative sections. He was prepared and knowledgeable and I appreciate that he did not overload my daughter with an enormous amount of work upfront but slowly built her up over time so by the time of the test she knew what to expect and felt confident and did very well! We also appreciated his calm demeanor, and relaxed but thorough approach. ![]() I have a car, a clean driving record and passed a recent background check.Įvan helped my 8th grade daughter prepare for the ISEE over a few months after we realized there were some gaps in her math knowledge. In addition to tutoring all sections of many standardized tests (ACT / SAT / ISEE / HSPT / SCAT / SHSAT / ERB / CBEST / GRE), I can assist with college essays & applications, most school subjects including math (algebra/geometry), reading and writing. I offer free official test materials for every section of the SAT & ACT. I have taken SAT practice tests where I score a perfect 800 in math and 760 in verbal. ![]() ![]() Mostly, members of Congress are do-nothings. In his book Militant Normals, Kurt Schlichter described Washington, D.C. The purpose? To repent for her privilege and rid herself of some sort of inherent liberal guilt. She’s a trustafarian, as one of my close friends calls them, having grown up comfortably as a suburbanite but enlisted for a tour of duty in the race and class war pushed by academia, the mainstream press, and the Democratic Party. Despite her upper-middle-class roots and degree in international relations and economics from the formerly-prestigious Boston University, AOC ended up underemployed and hoping for a slammed Friday night at the bar to fill the tip jar. Further, she is one of those pesky victimized millennial Socialists. That makes her the equivalent of a unicorn in the eyes of the political left-she’s near the top of the victimhood totem pole as established by the critical theory wonks. Not only is she brown, but at the risk of assuming her gender, she is a she. In short, AOC checks many of the requisite social justice boxes. The leftist system of academia of which AOC is product has raised an entire generation of nitwit social justice warriors who perceive themselves as victims of a rigged system, believe that certain skin tones, genitalia, and sexual orientations are résumé boosters, and view America as a fundamentally evil place where a white male patriarchy is still large and in charge, scheming at some non-existent monthly meeting about how it can oppress women and minorities whilst drinking scotch and chortling. The millennials to whom AOC appeals just know that they are owed by some societal structure that has held them down. It means working hard, accomplishing goals, and earning success.īut when you think about AOC through the lens of a twenty-two-year-old Starbucks barista with a degree in pansexual art theory who is chipping away at $234,591 in student loan debt one minimum-wage shift at a time, Cortez begins to make sense. To Republicans, the American dream means the opposite. She never founded a business that produced a viable product, created a single job, balanced a checkbook, or managed anything other than a social media account. Any speech or interview that she has given proves that she’s not exactly a scholar. How can this woman, just old enough to rent a car, who likely has not read a book since undergrad-and even then, probably only skimmed the text-instantly become the most attention-worthy member of Congress? After all, she hasn’t accomplished anything professionally. Given AOC’s tenuous relationship with reality, Republicans simply cannot understand the appeal. Her political opponents are still bewildered. The political Left’s American dream is the life of AOC: do nothing and become successful. The Yaaas queen crowd, whose worldview has been shaped through Instagram filters and Snapchat stories, and who have spent more time keeping up with the Kardashians than keeping up with American politics, reads her loudly and clearly: you too can be a know-nothing millennial idiot pouring seven-and-sevens at your local dive bar, and, with the mastery of precisely nothing other than Twitter clap backs, can achieve fame and influence overnight. Her cult-like millennial followers are enamored with her. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez represents the radical political Left’s American dream, and the political Right’s American nightmare. This is an evolution of the clutch claw mechanic from Monster Hunter World and gives hunters a grappling tool that works off of a cooldown meter, allowing you to typically use it twice before waiting for the meter to reset. It also runs really well on the platform, either docked or undocked and has some surprisingly swift load times to boot.Īs far as new additions go, one of the biggest has to be the new Wirebug tool. The monster designs seem to be on par with what we saw in Monster Hunter World and the Nintendo Switch actually holds its own when it comes to the visual side of Monster Hunter Rise. There?s a whole host of returning fan-favorite monsters, like Anjanath, Rathian, Pukei Pukei, and lots more. Instead, all the fun comes from hunting down ridiculous monsters, carving them up, and crafting new armor and weapons, which is something you?ll have plenty of in Monster Hunter Rise. That said, I know most people don?t necessarily come to Monster Hunter for the script. I know DLC will drop that will expand upon the story more, as is always the case with Monster Hunter games, but if you?re at all coming to this game for the story, just keep in mind that Monster Hunter Rise sort of skimps out on that category. I won?t go into spoilers, but the story just sort of happens, with the end boss being introduced so quickly that the tail end of the story feels severely rushed. ![]() Monster rampages are on the rise, and it?s up to you to fight back against a number of gigantic creatures to defend your village, while at the same time figuring out what has all the beasties so riled up. The basic gist is that you?re a new hunter in Kamura Village, which will serve as your hub throughout the game. The story component here is certainly lighter than what Monster Hunter World featured. That said, it won?t take you 100 hours to see end credits on Monster Hunter Rise. As a whole, it?s a really, really great Monster Hunter, something that long-time fans will easily pour another 100 hours into. As such, it does a pretty good job of fine-tuning elements from World, while also coming up with new ideas to help make Rise stand out amongst its long list of predecessors. So get ready to blast off in a rocket fuelled Starfield performance preview.Monster Hunter Rise marks the second entry in Capcom?s popular franchise, and the first significant follow-up to the series since Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. We also compare the improvements over the previous showing, enhancements within the engine, and much more. The biggest question after the show(s) was: why is it 30fps on Xbox Series X and Series S and not 60fps? In this IGN Performance preview, we dive into the details shared by the team, the revealed PC minimum and recommended specifications, and how the Creation Engine 2 works, comparing the previous games to gauge some of the potential reasons why the team might have chosen 30fps. With Starfield being the center of the Xbox 2023 Showcase last week, Bethesda gave us a deep dive into one of the biggest games this generation. Pre-orders for the digital versions of the game will open today. Pre-order bonuses will be offered, adding some (tremendously cute) layered armour sets for Palamutes and Palicos, as well as a talisman item to help novices in the early game. That is not to say that his music was uninteresting – it was in the details that Haydn created interest. So, generally speaking, each piece Haydn wrote can be viewed as a collection of phrases – “musical sentences” – strung together into larger structures. Each section would be broken down further into smaller sections, called phrases, which are short passages that evoke the same pacing and feeling as a spoken sentence. Each movement would be broken down into discrete sections, demarcated by pauses, or musical cadences.
